ACS CAN Lights of Hope

In September 2025, the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) will host its 15th annual Lights of Hope event. When the sun goes down on September 16, the pond at Constitution Gardens will be surrounded with cancer- fighting advocates sending messages to the leaders of our country that we need more funding for cancer research and prevention, that we need to focus on the quality of life of patients and their families, that we need to put an end to this disease as we know it. The pond will also be glowing with approximately 10,000 Lights of Hope bags dedicated to loved ones who have been touched by cancer. In addition to the 80,000 bags that will be lit across the country. Each Light of Hope honors loved ones who have survived cancer and remembers those we’ve lost. The displays in communities from coast to coast and in our nation’s capital will send a clear and impactful message to lawmakers that fighting cancer must be a national priority.
